Dear Rex,
As Chairman of South Kesteven District Council, I needed some information on
Corporal Charles Sharpe V.C. to send to the Union Jack Club in London and after
contacting you through the Bourne Internet web site, you kindly sent me a copy of
your CD-ROM "A Portrait of Bourne" which contained a most informative profile
about him together with the only coloured photograph of him I have
seen.
I am quite amazed at the depth, painstaking detail and magnitude of the work that
you have done. In these avaricious times it is so gratifying to find that there are folk
out there who will do things for their community because of their interest in the
community without demanding that they be paid for doing it.
The resource that you have made available through this CD-ROM is invaluable now
and in future years as a snapshot of the times will become an equivalent to the
"Domesday Book of Bourne". Every man should, in passing, leave his mark on this
earth, most are unaware that they have done so. Your mark is already there, burning
bright as an example of what an interest in journalism, photography, history and
technology can produce.
Although I now have the CD-ROM, I have added your Internet web site to my
"favourites" so that I can keep abreast of the items that you seem to be constantly
adding.
Keep up the good work
