 From information gained from the local papers of the time
or from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Some of
the information is sparse but further information has
proved difficult to find. 

G/41540 Private Walter D ASHER - died Belgium 24th September 1917 – 1st Battalion Middlesex Regiment. Buried Polcapelle British Cemetery, Belgium. Parents lived at Stainfield, near Bourne.

17233 Private Ernest John BACKLOG - died UK  22nd March 1915 – 3rd  Battalion Norfolk Regt. Buried Thetford Cemetery, Norfolk. Association with Bourne: worked at Foley’s Engineering Works. Death reported in the Lincoln, Boston & Spalding Free Press 10th August 1915.

31312 L/Corporal Albert Henry BEECROFT - died France 20th July 1916 – 18th Battalion Manchester Regiment. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme. Inscription on wife’s headstone in Bourne cemetery.
 
66508 Private John Thomas BELCHER - died France 18.9.1918 – 11th Battalion Royal Fusiliers. Commemorated at the Vis-en-Artois Memorial, Pas de Calais. Parents lived in Eastgate. 

70746 L/Corporal BELTON - died 18th June 1920 – 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regt. Commemorated on the Karachi 1914-1918 War Memorial. Parents lived in Bourne.
 
15753 Corporal William Bembridge BENNETT - died France 26th August 1916 – 7th Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment. Buried Allonville Communal Cemetery, Somme. Parents lived in Bourne.
 
241635 Private J J BOOTH - died France 19th June 1917 – 1st/5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Buried Loos British Cemetery. Bourne association: enlisted in Bourne. Death reported in the Lincoln, Boston & Spalding Free Press 31st July 1917.

9100 Sergeant Horace BRIGHTON - died France 26th April 1914 – 2nd Battalion Inniskilling Fusiliers. Commemorated on the La Ferte-Sous-Jouarres Memorial, Seine-et-Marne. Parents lived in Bourne, father was local policeman. Death reported in the Lincoln, Boston & Spalding Free Press.

27019 Private Herbert BUSH - died France 13th October 1918 – 1st/5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Buried Vadencourt British Cemetery, Maissemy. Lived in Bourne. 

241919 Private Thomas CHAMBERS - died Belgium 29th April 1918 – 2nd/5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Buried Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery. Lived in Bourne.

Earnest CLARKE - died locally March 1919 from the effect of gas poisoning and is buried in Bourne cemetery, reported in the Lincoln, Boston & Spalding Free Press on the 1st April 1919. Inscription on family headstone.

1608 L/Corporal A CODLING - DOW Belgium 13th May 1915 – 1st/4th Battalion Lincolnshire Regt. Buried Lindenhoek Chalet Military Cemetery. Father lived in Woodviewm Bourne. Unmarried and worked as a drayman.

* 40635 Private Ernest CODLING - KIA 8th June 1917 near Ypres, Belgium - 4th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Buried near where he fell but after the war his remains were re-interred in the British Military Cemetery at Messines Ridge. Lived at Woodview, Bourne, unmarried and had worked as a warehouseman.

1078 Sergeant Charles Herbert COOPER - died France 22nd March 1918 - 10th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Commemorated on the Arras Memorial. Lived at Edenham, near Bourne. 

15020 Private Thomas FOWLER- DOW Gallipoli 24th November 1915 – Buried at Sea. 6th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Commemorated on the Helles Memorial. Parents lived at Morton, near Bourne. 

242242 Private John Albert HARE - died Belgium 27th April 1918 – 1st/6th Battalion West Yorkshire Regt (Prince of Wales Own). Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. Lived in Bourne.

17920 Private Arthur HEAD - KIA Belgium 16th April 1918 – 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. Parents lived at Morton, near Bourne. 

202405 Private Alfred Octavius HINSON - KIA Belgium 12th October 1917 – 7th Battalion Lincolnshire Regt. Buried in Cement House Cemetery. Parents lived in Bourne. 

Private Arthur KENT - died from malaria at Salonika in  July 1917 – Kings Royal Rifle Corps. Lived in Bourne.

241750 L/Corporal George Robert LUNN MM - died from being accidentally shot in the UK 11th December 1917. 5th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment.  Buried in Bourne cemetery. Parents lived in Bourne.

Lieutenant E G PALMER - died France 4th March 1917 – 3rd Battalion attached to 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment. Buried Fins New British Cemetery, Somme. Parents lived in Bourne.
