WORK IS NOW well advanced on the new residential estate which is springing up
on the site of the old hospital in South Road. This has been one of the
most controversial of the recent housing developments in Bourne because it meant
the end of all hopes that the town would ever have its own hospital again,
whereas once it had three. The development by Stamford Homes is for 50 new houses and some have already been completed while a further development is now planned on the garden centre site next door which is due to close at the end of June.
