One of the most pleasant summer walks in Bourne is along the banks of the river behind Baldock’s Mill in South Street where a footpath will take you along the waterway and the southern edge of the Wellhead Gardens and then on to St Peter’s Pool where you will see it gushing out from its source.

Green algae takes over during spells of continually warm weather and soon
spreads over the waterway.
