Accommodation vacant
BUT STRICTLY FOR THE BATS
Fourteen new apartments have been created during the
refurbishment of the Burghley Street warehouse in Bourne and all are now being offered for
sale with vacant possession. The restoration of the early 19th century building
is part of a £2.2 million scheme to smarten up Wherry's Lane, a narrow
thoroughfare
between Burghley Street and the town centre which has been need of attention for
many years. However, two other units of accommodation have been included in the scheme with the addition of bat nesting boxes on either side of the grain sack hoist on the front of the building, tucked away near the roof, and both are expected to be fully occupied before long. The provision of these boxes was part of the planning application for the restoration scheme to ensure that any bats that may have been disturbed during the work still have somewhere to roost.
