A floating duck house has been a feature of the Bourne Eau behind
the mill for over a decade, attracting mallard for nesting and a perch for other
feathered visitors including kingfishers. The first one erected in 1999 by
members of the Civic Society deteriorated through age and was replaced in the
spring of 2011 when it was soon occupied by a pair of moorhens raising their
young. |
